My Darling Daughter turns 50 today!!
How the years have flown by. She started out as my precious baby that I prayed for for so long, and now she's my friend.
I set a table in her honor with my Royal Albert October teacup, some pretty flowers, and some Hello Dolly Bars.
These bars started out in the 1960's and I was smitten with them back then. How did they get their name? It seems the musical Hello Dolly was around the time that this recipe became popular, and was on the back of the Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk .
Happy Birthday, Molly! You deserve a wonderful day because you're the hardest working person, so loved by so many people, so talented, creative, loving, thoughtful, and a kind human being. I'm happy to call you my daughter and friend.
Yield: 24-48

Thank you for your visit! xo
I'm sharing with these parties:
Those sound delicious! I hope your daughter has a lovely birthday.
ReplyDeleteWow! Happy Birthday to Molly! Kitty, you are both beautiful, creative and hard-working from what I've seen. What a sweet table you've set. I love the colors. Hello Dolly reminds me of my mom. She loved Louie Armstrong's music, and I can see her dancing to the tune Hello Dolly. She made the bars, which we called 7 layer cookies. Good memories. 💛
ReplyDeleteWe love these bars, as well! Happy Birthday to your Molly!! How did all that time go past...so fast? Our daughter just turned 51 in June...I can't believe it.

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday wishes to your beautiful and talented daughter Molly! She does NOT look 50 ...it must be those good genes you passed along to her! Love your pretty teacup and table set in her honor. I have a friend from Texas that calls them Hello Dolly Bars too... it must be the Texas name for we call 7 Layer Cookie Bars. Cissy has been on my mind, I hope she's healing and not in too much pain. ♥
