These mini loose meat burgers remind me so much of White Castle hamburgers. My beloved hubby always went to White Castle after coaching me through four lamaze childbirths because he would go there afterwards since they were open 24 hours. My late beloved mom also loved the burgers also, and we would always pick some up when we visited her in Columbus, Ohio.
I made nine using the Hawaiian Roll 9 pack, but you can using the 12 pack, also. They make a quick and easy dinner. My hubby loved when I made these and they are a hit with my family. They would be great for watching a football game.
After dinner, I made myself a Decaf Toasted Marshmallow latte, which was like having dessert. The tea is a loose leaf one from Plum Deluxe.
I hope you try these!
Yield: 9-12

Mini Burger Sliders
These bring back fond memories and really remind me of White Castle hamburgers.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 of an envelope of dry onion soup mix
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (I used a Mexican 4-cheese blend)
- 9-12 dinner rolls, split (The Hawaiian ones are great for this)
- sliced hamburger dill pickles
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees .Cover a baking sheet with aluminum foil and spray with cooking spray.
- Mix together the ground beef and onion soup mix in a large skillet; cook and stir over medium-high heat until the beef is crumbly, evenly browned, and no longer pink. Drain and discard any excess grease. Remove from heat. Stir the mayonnaise and Cheddar cheese into the ground beef mixture.
- Lay the bottoms of the dinner rolls on the prepared baking sheet. Spread the cheese and beef mixture on the bottom half of each roll. Replace the tops. Cover with another sheet of aluminum foil sprayed with cooking spray.
- Bake in the preheated oven until the burgers are heated through and cheese melts, about 15 minutes. Serve with sliced pickles.
Notes
I noticed that the 9 pack of rolls are already split in half, which is convenient.
Granddaughter Avery had her Senior Volleyball night. Her table display that she and her mom put together was outstanding. So many photos throughout the years were on the board, along with a recent article of her that was in a local newspaper, and her shirts from her teams in prior years. It really was a work of art and love. Molly and Cissy came too, but had to leave for home before the group photo.
Thank you for your visit! xo
I'm sharing with these parties:
We had absolutely perfect weather for days upon days - so rare for us here - mid 70s, no humidity, cloudless......but the wind shifted tonight from a warm day to very chilly and it is 49 degrees right now! Surely the warm hitting the cold air will bring on rain. And so sweater weather begins. Your sliders look yummy. Grats to Avery!! Hard to believe she's a senior. Where will she be going to college if that's her plan?
ReplyDeleteThat sounds delicious; I have never eaten at a White Castle before.
ReplyDeleteBelieve it or not, I've never made sliders? These sound really good Kitty, would love to whip some up:@)

ReplyDeleteYour sliders sound so tasty Kitty, especially for game day. Believe it or not, I’ve never had a White Castle burger. We don’t have them here, but I have had a Krystal burger which I understand is similar. Your teacup is so pretty with your Toasted Marshmallow Latte! I was just looking at my milk frother you gave me thinking about whipping up a Pumpkin Spice Latte as it finally feels like fall here. Congrats to Avery! I agree with Michele, it’s hard to believe she’s a senior. ♥
What a great honor for Avery, and having so many of your family together. 🧡When I first saw your post's lead photo, I immediately thought of White Castle! My sister and her husband used to call them f**tburgers, lol. Your recipe looks great, and the onion soup mix may actually help insofar as the nickname is concerned. :)
ReplyDeleteYour mini burgers look great, Kitty. I wished we had a White Castle north of the border.
ReplyDeleteI am intrigued by Plum Deluxe's Toasted Marshmallow latte and will have to look it up online.
Congrats to Avery on her athletic accomplishment!
My gosh, those high school years go by so quickly! Congratulations to Avery! Our al fresco dinner nights have sadly passed, I'm afraid. Those burgers look great! I haven't had a White Castle burger since my college days, a long time ago - LOL. I've been craving my mom's Sloppy Joes though so our minds thinking in a similar direction :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Avery! Yummy recipe. Charming table as ever... Blessings!
ReplyDeleteBurgers and sliders are my favorite! Your recipe combining the ground beef with onion soup mix, mayo and cheddar sounds delicious! Congrats to Avery, I know you are so proud of all your grands~ Have a wonderful week!
