Her Majesty (Moi!) loves this!! |
Recipe is from The Donvier Ice Cream and Dessert Book
1 cup milk
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 cups whole strawberries, fresh, or frozen and thawed
1 1/2 cups whipping cream
1 t. vanilla
In a saucepan over medium heat, heat milk until hot. In a small mixing bowl whisk together sugar and edds. Whisking constantly, gradually add hot milk to egg. Return mixture to saucepan over medium heat. Stirring constantly, cook until slightly thickened, about 5-8 minutes. Cool. (I put this saucepan into a bowl of ice water to cool quickly).
In a blender or food processor, puree fruit with cream. Stir into cooled custard. Add vanilla Chill thoroughly. Follow directions for your ice cream maker.
Makes about 1 quart.

ReplyDeleteYum! This looks so yummy I wish I had an ice cream maker. Instead, I'll just have to drool at your pictures and enjoy the store bought strawberry ice cream that's in my freezer right now. I know it's not as good as your homemade version is. I'm sure many others will enjoy making it, so thanks for sharing your recipes at Your Cozy Home Party each week.
