Wouldn't you like to share a piece of cake and cup of tea with me? |
1 angel food cake mix, prepared and baked according to directions on box
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened (I always use "lite")
1 cup powdered sugar
1 can blueberry pie filling (or cherry)
1 (8-ounce) container of frozen whipped topping, thawed
Cut cake into 4 layers.
Beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar together . Add the pie filling and mix well. Fold in the thawed whipped topping.
Spread the filling between each layer and on top. Refrigerate.
My late Aunt Kitty painted this beautiful violet plate and tea cup |
Isn't the detail so pretty? I have six different designs. |

ReplyDeleteKitty, the cake looks delicious. The plate and cup are gorgeous. We were given a plate at our wedding, done by a local china painter. At one time there was a china painters guild, here.

The plate is so pretty and that cake...YUM! thanks for sharing with us~! have a great evening. Visiting from LD!
ReplyDeleteYour Aunt was a very talented painter!!! The design on the plate and cup is beautifully done and, I'm sure, a great treasure. she must have had incredible patience as well as a steady hand! The cake sounds really good. I love blueberries, and I love angel food cake. They must be a real knockout when put together! I always find it so hard to cut angel food cake, though. There must be some trick to it!
ReplyDeleteI need this cake on my tablescape -- it matches!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous looking cake, Kitty!
ReplyDeleteYes, I would love to share a piece of cake and a cup of tea with you! Your cake looks soooo good! I love blueberry anything, and angel food cake too, so this is a great combo. I always make angel food cake in a bundt or tube pan, but yours looks like it is just a layer pan. I am wondering if it is difficult to cut into 4 layers--it's usually hard to cut! If you have a good trick for that will you let us know? I have some painted dishes and cups from my husband's grandmother, but they are tucked away. I must get them out and use them, but she never did, so I'm a little afraid! Linda
ReplyDeleteYour plate is beautiful Kitty, and I'm sure more special to you since your aunt painted it. Your cake looks divine, and I'd love to sit down and enjoy it with you! Thanks for dropping by my party.....hope you're having a wonderful week!
