I am so very thrilled to be a guest for Tea on Tuesdays!
Even though it's hot here in Texas, I had to try my new Blue Moon tea, which I thought would be a perfect flavor for celebrating our country's 250th Birthday party! My son Tim, and his wife Julie, brought me home the tea from their recent trip to Boulder, CO. The tea says that it is an exclusive, bestselling blend of black tea with flavors of vanilla, almond and blueberry. It is very tasty!
Mary and Pam make teatime so special and so inviting and I always look forward to their monthly tea parties. Please check out their patriotic teas at the bottom of the page. You will be in for a patriotic teatime treat!
My tea begins with one of my Big Star quilts that I made years ago to coordinate with my Coventry Liberty dishes that I found at a thrift store. What a deal they were compared to what I see on Ebay. My pitcher holding my centerpiece was a gift from my dear friend, Joy, from when we first moved here to Texas. The pitcher comes from Marshall Pottery.
This pewter teapot that was my late Great Aunt Kitty's, is a Williamsburg reproduction, and has always been a favorite, and one that my late beloved hubby and I used on the weekends. We went to Williamsburg on our honeymoon, and I've always loved pewter, and Armetale pieces ever since.
These mugs and the coordinating dishes get used so much all summer. Homespun fabrics give a touch of primitive decor that are always a part of me, too.
Let's enjoy some red, white and blue macarons, and Tru Fru treats, shall we?
Have your tried Tru Fru that can be found in grocery stores, or Macarons from Trader Joe's? They're both such yummy teatime treats. The Tru Fru I have also found at Costco and it is much more reasonable to buy there.
For a homemade treat, I've made us one of my all-time favorite cookies with red, white, and blue M&M's . You can also make cookie cakes with this recipe by checking it out here.
Yield: About 32 large cookies

Peanut Butter Jumbos
This cookie can be changed out for different holidays by using seasonal M&M's. The cookie has no flour in it, and is one of my all-time favorites! It's chewy and so good warm from the oven!
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 and 1/2 cups peanut butter
- 3 eggs
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 4 and 1/2 cups rolled oats
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup candy-coated chocolate pieces (M&M's)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease cookie sheets or use parchment paper.
- Beat butter, sugars, peanut butter and eggs in large bowl until well blended. Blend in baking soda, vanilla and oats until well mixed. Stir in chocolate chips and candy pieces.
- Use an ice cream scoop for each cookie. Place on prepared cookie sheets, spacing about 4 inches apart. Press each cookie to flatten slightly.
- Bake about 14-15 minutes or until firm in the center.
- Let the cookies cool for a few minutes on the pans before removing them to a wire rack to finish cooling.
Notes
I sometimes freeze the cookie dough balls, and then store them in a food safe container, and take them out when I want a freshly baked cookie.

Thank you for your visit! xo

Kitty, your patriotic Tea on Tuesdays table is such a charming celebration of summer and America’s 250th birthday! 🫖 I especially enjoyed seeing your Great Aunt Kitty’s beautiful pewter teapot take center stage…it’s always so special when treasured family pieces are included in a table setting. Your Big Star quilt provides the perfect patriotic backdrop, and your Coventry Liberty dishes are perfect for the occasion. Your Blue Moon tea sounds wonderful too. Thank you so much for joining us for tea today. Wishing you a wonderful week ahead! ❤️🤍💙
ReplyDeleteKitty, I.adore your patriotic teatime table. It reminds me of the early years of Country Living magazine spreads, so inviting and so welcoming. Your new tea sounds delightful, and I bet it would be good iced as well. Early mornings are such a good time for tea breaks (I call it second breakfast, hehe), and even though the TX humidity is rising, there's still time to enjoy the art of doing nothing but enjoying the.moment. Happy Patriotic Teatime!
