Chocolate Fondue and Granddaughter Fun

My youngest grandchild and I had a fondue party!

Hayden wanted to spend the night with me.  That doesn't happen very often because the kids get so busy with sports, parties, and activities.  I was thrilled!

I think Hayden enjoyed the fondue with strawberries.  We talked about what other foods we could dip into the chocolate.  She later told me that she doesn't like dark chocolate (I had used semi sweet), but it didn't seem to stop her from enjoying all her strawberries.  Next time, I will use milk chocolate for her.

Chocolate Fondue

Chocolate fondue is a fun recipe to have for a party for several or even for one or two! I made half of this recipe. If you have leftovers, you can cover and put in the fridge and reheat again.

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces semisweet, milk, or bittersweet chocolate, finely chopped, or in chip form
  • 1/2 cup whipping cream

Instructions

  1. Heat the whipping cream in the microwave until very hot. I do this right in my ceramic fondue pot.
  2. Remove from the microwave and add the finely chopped chocolate or the chips. Let stand until the chocolate is softened, about three minutes, and then whisk until smooth.
  3. Place it over the burner to keep warm.
  4. Have a platter with fresh fruit, such as strawberries, cherries, pineapple, orange sections, and bananas. You can also use cubes of pound cake, angel food cake, marshmallows, pretzels, or graham crackers.
  5. Enjoy!

Hayden, age 7, still enjoys playing with all the toys.  At the top right, she had breakfast in bed with her dolls beside her.
In the middle photos, we had made a single layer cake and cupcakes, and since we are going to the beach this summer, she decorated them with teddy bears (Teddy Grahams), gummy Lifesavers for innertubes, small round candies for beach balls, sour multi colored strips for beach towels, ground up graham crackers for sand, and tiny umbrellas for beach umbrellas.  I put on the homemade cream cheese frosting, but Hayden did all the rest by herself.  She took her finished cakes home for her family. Didn't she do a great job?
In the bottom photo, we went to the playground, and she also wanted to put on a pretty dress, and get her hair styled by Nana. We also shopped, too!

Hayden's big sister, Harper, age 10, won 1st place in the under 14 Girl's Division of a Mountain  Biking race and 3rd place overall in the Girl's and Boy's mixed division!  This girl is so athletic!

My fourth born grandchild,  but firstborn granddaughter, Avery, turned 18 years old this past week!

Thank you for your visit!  xo

I'm sharing with these parties:
