Do you need a quick, no-bake cookie for the holidays?
I have been making these cookies since I was a Girl Scout, and I still love them. I've seen them done in white chocolate, also, but I like this flavor combo. Doesn't my Big Star Quilt look perfect with my teacup that was gifted to me from my friend Janne?
I love this pretty Cup of Christmas Tea teacup and the sweet story that goes with it.
I have never had an advent wreath and it's a custom of our Catholic faith. I finally found this version that is perfect to represent the four weeks of Advent, starting with Hope, then Peace, Joy, and finally Love. The traditional colors for the candles are purple, and the third candle is pink. I have never liked those colors for Christmas (hangs head in shame!), and I mentioned it at my bible study party, and one friend suggested that I tie ribbons around the candles. Wasn't that a great idea? Then while I was shopping with friends before we went to see a Christmas show, we stopped in a little boutique, and lo and behold, there THIS was!! It was meant to be! The candle is lit on each particular Sunday of Advent, along with the previous one.
These are one of my favorites!

Chow Mein Noodle Cookies
This is the flavor combo that I've always done, but peanut butter chips and chocolate chips would be good, too. When you need a quick and easy treat, these are perfect!
Ingredients
- 1 cup butterscotch chips
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 (5-ounce) container of Chow Mein Noodles
- 1 cup of dry roasted peanuts
- sprinkles if desired
Instructions
- Melt the chips together in a microwave safe bowl. I do this on 50% power at one minute intervals, stirring between. When melted, add the Chow Mein Noodles and the peanuts and stir until everything is coated.
- Drop by spoonful onto wax or parchment paper. Add the sprinkles before the chocolate hardens. Chill in fridge until firm and then transfer to covered containers.
Notes
You can also do all white chocolate if you prefer.
These make great nests, by shaping them with an indention, at Easter time and filled with peanut M&M's in pastel colors.
Thank you for your visit! xo
I'm sharing with these parties:
I remember these (made with butterscotch and white chocolate) growing up! They are an easy treat but I've never thought to make myself. I like your idea of chocolate and butterscotch combined. Your advent candles with the ribbons are so pretty; that is such a good idea.
