Our Texas cool down didn't last long!
We are now back in the 90's again, and it's Iced Taylors of Harrogate Blackberry and Raspberry Fruit Flavoured Infusion for me. This tea is oh so refreshing !
My Royal Albert September teacup of Michaelmas Daisies matches my my bouquet of flowers in my little cottage teapot.
Ooh la la, this crackle sauce is soooo good and and perfect on vanilla ice cream. My sister told me about Blue Bunny Soft Ice Cream and it is really tasty.
Yield: 1 and 1/4 cups
Chocolate Nut Crackle Sauce
I have been making this sauce for years and my son said it is Magnifique! It makes a wonderful hostess gift and is so easy to make. Leave out the nuts if you prefer.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 cup medium-fine chopped walnuts (or use pecans or almonds)
- 6 ounces (about 1 cup) semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Melt butter in a heavy skillet over moderate heat.
- Add walnuts and cook, stirring to prevent burning, until light and golden brown. Remove from heat.
- Stir in chocolate chips until melted and smooth.
- Heat to serve over ice cream (sauce will crackle and become firm).
- Put in a jelly jar for giving and decorate the jar if you wish.
- Refrigerate.
Notes
I reheat the jar, taking off the band and lid, and put in the microwave on low power until it's melted. It reheats well over and over if it lasts that long.
My youngest granddaughter spent the night with me recently while her parents redecorated her room into a smiley faces theme. She's always fun to have and makes me laugh. In the top right photo she is ready for bed with her TTYL mask on, while doing snow angels on my bathroom rug that she loves. Of course the little princess had breakfast in bed and chose her birth month teacup with pink lemonade. Our time was cut too short because I had to get her home for her soccer game.
Cissy's school had their homecoming and I was lucky enough to attend the fun and happy pep rally and the game. The top left photo is what the mums and garters look like in Texas!
My darling daughter always includes me to come and be included in the photo sessions. Molly made the boutonnieres for the boys and the beautiful bouquets for the girls. She's so talented! Cissy looked so beautiful and her date looked so handsome, and he was so personable. He wrote to Molly afterwards and thanked her for the privilege of taking Cissy to homecoming....so very thoughtful.
Thank you for your visit! xo
I'm sharing with these parties:

ReplyDeleteKitty, Your crackle sauce sounds delicious and 90 degree temps are certainly ice cream weather, love it served in your pretty teacup! Our cool down was brief too and it’s feeling so humid and tropical. That Hayden is just too cute…her personality really shines through your photos.
