Bunny Pillow, Cross Stitch and Pistachio Layered Dessert

For today's Spring tea, I have some things I'd like to share with you.  Let's sit and have a slice of Pistachio Layered Dessert and a cup of tea.  The gorgeous pink roses were found at a local grocery store, as a rainy day special, for $2.00!!!  Isn't my cabbage teapot with the bunny peeking out the top, so cute?

This Spring Cross Stitch is a Lizzie Kate design that I finished last Spring.   I did it on linen and changed some of the colors up a bit to suit my tastes.  I've done all four seasons and use the same frame for all of them.

My Petit Point teacup is by Royal Albert, and found on Ebay.  When I opened up the box, one of my granddaughters was here and she said, "Oh Nana. it looks like cross stitch!"

I turned over my sweater pillow that I had made for Valentine's Day, and used buttons to make a bunny.  My inspiration was from a catalog from Pier 1, which I've shown below.  I just laid my buttons around until I liked the shape and then I hot glued them on.  You can see my heart button pillow here

Here's my inspiration for my bunny pillow.

For the Pistachio Layered Dessert, you can find my recipe that I shared, which can be found here.  This time, instead of using Oreos in the crust, I used a sleeve of Lorna Doone cookies, along with the melted butter.  They're both good!

  8. Beautiful cross stitch teacup, I love it! Spring is looking great at your table with a delicious pistachio dessert and needle point reminds me of how much I used to do, even small foot rugs for my girls rooms.

  9. I so want to join you for tea! That dessert looks delish. You have the most interesting tea cups and saucers! I think I told you I used to do cross stitch and needlepoint...loved it! It was good therapy for me too but my eyes limit that now.

  17. Oh what great fun Kitty and I do remember those Texas Bluebonnets. Back in the day so to speak I had HUGE ones in front of my store that I grew from seeds. I love your pretty picture and how it does match the cup and saucer. Your grandaughter has that creative eye already! Have a lovely weekend.

  19. Both your cabbage teapot and bunny pillow are too cute! Your pistachio layered dessert is the perfect treat for springtime tea. I was at David's Tea today and sampled their new pistachio ice cream black tea. It was nice but didn't blow my socks off so I brought home two other herbal teas instead.

Your bunny pillow is just the cutest, as is that sweet little teapot! I love the cross stitch too. Have you posted the other seasons before? I wish I had the patience and eyesight to do that!!! My mom did it for years and I have so many of her lovely cross stitched items. Your teacup is adorable, you have such a wonderful collection! And that dessert looks delicious. I'll have to snatch that recipe from you....hope all is well and that you have a nice weekend!

  26. What a great idea to have a cross stitch to change out for each season. It's beautifully done. The teacup does look like cross stitch. Pink roses are my favourites, and what a great deal. The bunny pillow is a charming decoration for spring.

Still waiting for Spring to arrive...temps in the 30's with frost this morning. I hope it doesn't kill the budding trees & flowers!

  30. You created an adorable bunny pillow with the buttons Kitty. The Petit Point is a fond reminder of my late friend Joan who had this pattern for her good china.
