Family Favorite Yeast Rolls

Brrrrr...it is cold outside and temperatures are continuing to drop!

Please join me for a cup of  Twinings Christmas tea, and we can chat by my fire.

This favorite teacup from a dear friend is such a favorite and looks perfect on my quilted topper.

My old Santa always makes an appearance and I think of my daughter who gifted it to me, and I gave her the same one!

Mary from Home Is Where The Boat Is told us about these sculpted butters, and I bought a turkey one for Thanksgiving and this tree for Christmas.

I have been making these rolls for probably 50 years and my family loves them.  You can make the dough and keep it in the fridge for  a week, or you can go ahead, let the dough rise, and then shape the rolls, let them rise, and bake.

My daughter had us over for an after-Thanksgiving feast.  She made the most gorgeous charcuterie spread in the upper photos.  The middle photo is Molly, Tim, me, Mike and Julie. Bottom is all my grandchildren, a boyfriend of Avery, a girlfriend of Caiden, and a girlfriend of Connor.  Riley surprised us by driving 10 hours from his Army base.

Tim and Mike watched the Ohio State - Michigan game and we dressed in our Buckeye shirts.  Yea, my Alma Mater won!  Bottom photo is of Mike, Kevin, Kristen, Harper and Hayden who had been vacationing in Maui and had asked to do a mini Thanksgiving together when they came home.

Thank you for your visit!  xo

I would love to make these rolls. They look so good. They look great sitting on your quilt tablecloth by the fire with your Christmas tea cup. I may need to get a butter tree. How fun is that.
I always enjoy seeing your big family! It feels my heart with joy to see them surround you with love.
    Merry December, Kitty!

  3. Good morning Kitty, Your table is so merry and bright with your Santa, quilted topper and pretty teacup! I’m going to look for the tree shaped butter when I’m shopping this week. My sister picked up our turkey butter for Thanksgiving in Atlanta this year. 😊 Molly’s charcuterie looks amazing and what a fun surprise to have Caiden join you for Thanksgiving! I would love to try your roll recipe…one that stands the test of time. Wishing you a merry December week, stay warm! 🎄❤️

  4. Oh I love this awesome recipe! Not having to bake all the rolls at once is ideal! All your Christmas decorations are lovely. And I am WILD about the butter sculptures! Where did you get them? Such beautiful times with family. That Molly sure is talented like her mama! Thanks much for sharing. Stay safe & warm! XO

  8. We always buy our rolls and my sister in law makes the best rolls - but we never get together with them for the holidays, always after. So I've only had her rolls a few times years ago before Vivi was born. I SO want to try this recipe - or perhaps Michael will since he's our bread maker. They are SO perfect. TY!!! And wasn't that game incredible? Whoot! Now to beat Indiana...................love your family photos and your sweet tea table and that charcuterie board could be in a magazine, she did a wonderful job, wow. ♥

  13. There is nothing like a homemade roll and yours look sooo good! I'm going to copy this one as I love that you can make the dough ahead and keep it in the frig for a while. We have several good friends who went to Ohio State and they were celebrating too! Congratulations! Poor University of Wisconsin did not do very well this year. Fingers crossed for next year! What happy family photos! ♥
