Blue and orange are such wonderful complementary colors. My favorite leaf plate is an old one from WalMart. The fun pumpkin pillows came from Target last year.
The colors in this Royal Imperial teacup pick up the blues and oranges.
Trader Joe's has the best and least expensive flowers. My little pumpkin is one that I made quite awhile ago by using an old sweater sleeve and sliding it over a faux pumpkin and twisting the excess fabric at the top and wrapping with twine. To make the twirly tendrils, just wet the twine with glue and wrap around pencils and let dry, and then remove.
This delightful tea is another one from Margie, and it was perfect with the pumpkin bread.
Here are the breads and mini bundts, cooling on the counter. I'm going to make some cream cheese frosting and pipe it on the mini bundts to give away.
Yield: 3 loaves or 2 loaves and 4 mini bundts

Favorite Pumpkin Bread
I have been making this pumpkin bread since Molly was in kindergarten...over 45 years. It's so moist and perfectly spicy. This time I used melted butter in place of the oil, and reduced the sugar a bit.
Ingredients
- 3 and 1/2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 and 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon allspice
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves (my addition)
- 4 eggs
- 1 can pumpkin puree (2 cups)
- 2/3 cup water
- 3 cups sugar (I used 2 and 1/2 cups)
- 1 cup oil or 1 cup of butter melted, and cooled
- 1 cup chopped nuts, optional
Instructions
- Sift the flour, baking soda, salt, and spices together in a large bowl. I often just use a whisk to do this.
- Beat the eggs slightly, then add the pumpkin, water, sugar, oil, and nuts (if using), and mix together.
- Add the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix.
- Pour into greased loaf pans.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes at 350 degrees, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. If making mini loaves, check after 30 minutes or so.
Here is Ella ready to serve. Her team won their games this past Tuesday and Friday!
