I was able to set up a tea for us before the rain came.
My beloved Mom's picnic cloth is gracing my table. It's so very old and feels like soft flannel. Soon a cover will need to go over my little waterfall because the bald cypress tree (to the right) makes a mess when it's needles drop.
This little tin pumpkin is one I've probably had for over 30 years and came from Michael's for 99 cents. It's cute lit up or today with a canning jar inside to hold my Fall flowers.
This is another tea from Margie that is so delicious and perfect for this time of the year.
My apple crunch makes my home smell so good! What's different about this recipe is that there in so oatmeal in it. Would you like ice cream or whipped cream with your apple crunch?

Apple Crunch
This is such a comforting dessert that I've been making for years.
Ingredients
- Topping:
- 1 cup flour
- 1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 6 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans, optional
- Apple Part:
- 4 large apples, peeled
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Topping:
- Mix together the flour and brown sugar, and pecans, if using, and then add the melted butter. Mix well and set aside. You want this mixture to form clumps.
- Apple Part:
- Lightly butter a 9-inch pie plate.
- Cut peeled apples into quarters, slice and place in pie plate. Sprinkle the cinnamon, nutmeg and sugar over, and mix. Pour the water ever this evenly.
- Now break apart the topping into clumps with your finger tips, and sprinkle over the apples.
- Bake until golden brown. I like my apples very tender, and I leave it in for 1 hour.
My youngest grandchild, Hayden, turned 8 and she had a Halloween dress up party, and I was asked to wear a costume, too. Her mom, my DIL Kristen, had everything so perfectly decorated and she had a surprise entertainment which was the SNAKE MAN! Eeek!! Hayden loves snakes and the snake man provided many varieties which were all non poisonous ones. He also gave a lot of information about each type. I didn't touch any, although my son teasingly chased me with one, but I did learn a lot.
Thank you for your visit! xo
I'm sharing with these parties:
