My youngest son and daughter-in-law went to Durango and my son, Mike, and I went to their house to watch Harper and Hayden. It was a busy time with the two little angels!
We made candy melt covered ghosts, pumpkins and acorns. I covered the area with wax paper and gave each girl their own bowl of sprinkles. Harper was ready first.
Hayden came next. She really loved the pumpkins and thought they were the cutest.
Harper had the cutest Halloween performance in their second grade class. It was so very enjoyable, and she sang and danced her heart out! Hayden's soccer team is undefeated and she scored two goals, and two assists. She scored five goals the week before!
Yield: However many you want to do!
Halloween and Fall Treats
I started making the Nutter Butter Ghosts when my kids were young. The Jack-o-lantern pretzels and acorns are something new that I've been seeing on the internet. Kids have so much fun doing these treats, and this plateful was done by Harper and Hayden.
Ingredients
- Candy melts in various colors (I used white, orange and chocolate)
- Nutter Butter cookies for the ghosts and the acorns
- Mini pretzels for the pumpkins
- Mini chocolate chips
- Chocolate jimmies
- Wax paper for preparing and drying of the treats.
Instructions
- Melt the candy melts according to package directions. I just use the microwave, being careful to check often to see when they're melted.
- Dip the Nutter Butters in the white, either completely or drizzle some from the top downward, to decorate the ghosts. Add mini chocolate chips for the eyes and mouth.
- Cut Nutter Butters in half with a sharp knife to form two halves to make the acorns. Dip the cut end in a little melted chocolate and then dips that into some chocolate sprinkles. Add a broken piece of pretzel that's been dipped in chocolate for the stem.
- Dip mini pretzels in orange candy melts, and add a broken piece of pretzel that's been dipped into the melted orange, for the stem. The mini pretzels make their own Jack-o-lantern face.
- Let dry on wax paper.
Thank you for your visit! xo
