We are still having some great weather here in Texas, and It's too pretty to not snack outside. Would you like to snack on some crackers with cream cheese and jalapeño jelly? I made the jelly back in the summer and have some stashed away for gifting.
I love this Fall teapot that I found in a thrift shop in Ohio for $3. It's so cute, isn't it, and has such pretty detail.
My Olde English Countryside Johnson Bros. teacup is a favorite for Fall.
My beloved Mom gave me this sweet pilgrim couple years ago.
Jalapeño Jelly is great on cream cheese and also on grilled meats.
My second oldest grandchild turned 18!! My daughter has always cut the boys' hair, but as you can see Riley didn't have a haircut for quite some time. I old her that she gave Riley a makeover for his birthday. That's Riley, #90 who played his last football game in the playoffs. It played on TV and I was able to watch it and took a picture.
I was able to see Harper and Hayden and give Harper her birthday gifts, since she was camping with her family on her birthday. Harper and Hayden love going to the indoor rock climbing place. Ella's team, that is coached by DIL Julie and granddaughter, Avery, won the volleyball tournament.
Yield: 8 (1/2 pint) jars
Jalapeno Jelly
This makes for a great appetizer, when placed on top of a block or a scoop of whipped cream cheese, with some crackers.
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup chopped green bell peppers, seeded with ribs and stems removed
- 3/4 cup chopped fresh jalapeño peppers, seeded, with ribs and stems removed (see Note)
- 6 cups sugar
- 1 and 1/2 cups apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon butter
- 6 ounces of pectin
Instructions
- Combine bell peppers and jalapenos in work bowl of a food processor. Add vinegar and process until peppers are a smooth puree.
- Place in dutch oven or large saucepan with sugar over medium-high heat. Add 1 teaspoon butter (this helps reduce the foam). Bring to a rolling boil and boil for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and pour in pectin. Return to heat and boil for 1 more minute.
- Pour into sterilized jelly jars to within 1/4" of the rim and seal with sterilized lids.
- Process according to directions OR store in the refrigerator for 6 months.
Notes:
Wear rubber gloves when handling hot peppers and avoid contact with eyes, nose, or lips.
Thank you for your visit! xo

Happy Monday Kitty! I’ve long admired your pretty thrifted teapot and never met a JB pattern I didn’t love! Love seeing your grands in their activities, they’re all growing up and those girls are the cutest! I made some freezer red pepper jelly this summer too. We love it alongside pimento cheese on a cracker or pretzel crisp. ♥
ReplyDeleteI have never had Jalapeno jelly; it sounds delicious, Kitty. I cannot believe that fun teapot was only $3. Goodness, what a treasure you found. Love the sweet pilgrim couple, too. More lovely photos of your sporty family. The grands are all growing up, aren't they?
ReplyDeleteJalapeno Jelly is a great treat Kitty! Glad to hear you're still having nice weather, it's already heater season here:@)
ReplyDeleteJalapeno jelly is much too hot for me, though I have tried it before and thought it was tasty. Your grandson is very handsome...looking good. All your grands seem to be active types...look at the girls climb! Have a great week!

I've always loved pepper jelly and made it many times over the years. Sure sounds good right now! Enjoy your week!
ReplyDeleteI love pepper jelly, and you are right - it is so good with crackers and cheese! I'd like to make some for Christmas. Lovely family photos, Kitty. Have a good week.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good snack to have! I love pepper jelly and who doesn't like cream cheese! What adorable pilgrims and a lovely treasure too. My middle daughter gave me the pilgrims that Publix came out with in 2015. It's a collector's item now and sometimes can be found in antique stores. I have mine out even though I am in full steam ahead with Christmas decor. LOL! Your grandson's hair cut looks nice. Oh I wish the kids could come visit my daughter's rock gym! They would have so much fun. I hope you have a great week Kitty. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteWhat fun it must be to watch your grandson play football on TV! I wonder if I will see mine on TV some day. I used to cut my boys' hair too including my hubby's. I must admit, I love seeing the long hair coming back. Not too many former hair stylists would admit that, I don't think. I have always been a long hair person.
ReplyDeleteI love Jalapeno jelly with cream cheese and crackers! I served that often at our Bible Study groups and they always enjoyed it. You have a very active family, Kitty. So do I. Isn't it wonderful? Have a lovely week, my friend.
My hubby loves pepper jelly but my stomach won't take it. I have way too much acid no matter what I eat and spicy foods just do me in! Looks like you are ready for Thanksgiving there- fun pictures. Have a great week- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteYour cute teapot is a great score!
ReplyDeleteI'm also a fan of red pepper jelly and cream cheese. It's always a hit when I bring it to potlucks.
My brother also had long (shoulder-length) hair and was finally able to get a haircut this month!
hi Kitty, your fall teapot is adorable and I love your Thanksgiving vignette! Your grands are all so athletic, that's great and such fun to watch. Cute family photos...and you are so smart to have made jalapeno jelly for gifts. Have a great rest of the week

Oh, my, this sounds so yummy! I am thinking that they probably sell this at both of the two Mennonite stores we recently discovered. I LOVE jelly with cream cheese on crackers, and with the added spice, I can just imagine how delicious your jelly is. I trust the Lord will richly bless you today, sweet friend!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a great snack, and I love the Johnson Bros. pattern. It is perfect for fall! The fall teapot is adorable, too!
ReplyDeleteThat jelly looks good! I know I would like that on cream cheese. I've had pickapeppa sauce on cream cheese and love it. Pretty Johnson Bros pattern. Riley looks handsome with his haircut. Your grands are all very active kids and that's great!
ReplyDeleteCute teapot and gorgeous J.B. teacup. Love seeing your adorable family.Hugs!

ReplyDeleteOur weather is still nice also. Our high today is 78.
ReplyDeleteLove your new thrifted teapot. Dallas has great thrift shops. I miss the one close to our son's home in Dallas since they moved to San Antonio and now Colorado.
I haven't made pepper jelly in years. I need to make some for gifts. You have inspired me.
Enjoy your Thanksgiving next week.
Just found your blog, doing some blog hopping and getting back into blogging after a long break. I collect teapots too. I am not even a big fan of hot tea but I love tea and tea pots. Most of them I find at estate sales or antiquing.
ReplyDeleteJalapeno Jelly is great with cream cheese, and I love that it is a quick and easy snack. Glad to hear you're still having nice weather, it's been nice here but the heat is on now. Always love seeing what you and your grandchildren are up to. xo
