I'm setting my tea time today on my bench that I've had for over fifty years with my Halloween quilt.
I wanted to practice my spider cheese ball that I'm taking to a luncheon this coming week. It turned out pretty cute!
A friend gave me the pattern for this fun quilt and I made it this past summer with scraps that I had. I had to fussy-cut the vintage-like printed fabric. It fits perfectly on my old and trusty hall bench.
This matching tea cozy was made last year from this vintage-inspired fabric that I fell in love with awhile back and kept in my stash.
My Grace's Teaware teacup and the plaid plate are so pretty for Halloween.
Our boy Connor left for Camp Pendleton after a wonderful visit home! He bought a 2014 Chevy Silverado, and he is so happy!! I took Connor and my daughter, Molly, out for a lunch treat.

Spider Cheese Ball
This is a fun cheese ball to serve to your guests for Halloween!
Ingredients
- 16 ounces of cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded sharp white cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup chopped pitted green olives
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- poppy seeds for coating
- 1 green pepper, 1 pitted green olive, and 6-8 slivered almond, for decorating
- Crackers for serving
Instructions
- Using a mixer, mix together the cream cheese, cheddar, chopped olives, and garlic powder.
- Form the mixture into a ball, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- Before serving, roll the cheese ball in the poppy seeds. To evenly coat, pour the seeds into a cereal bowl and set the cheese ball on top. Roll the ball into the seeds until it's coated. I didn't bother coating the bottom.
- Slice the pepper crosswise to make 4 thin slices, remove the seeds, and slice into each round once. Arrange 4 pepper slices on each side of the spider for the legs. Slice the olive lengthwise for the eyes, and arrange the almonds for the teeth.
- Serve with crackers.
Notes:
Celery sticks, sliced cucumbers, and carrots would be good for this, too.
Thank you for your visit! xo

ReplyDeleteKitty, Your quilt and tea cozy are adorable! I love your fabrics you chose to that make your pumpkin and cute cats. Love your spider cheese ball too. I've used chia seeds to cover a spooky cheese ball before since they were cheaper per ounce than poppy seeds. :) Glad you had a nice visit with Connor and he was able to find a truck with the shortages in the car market these days. ♥
