Creamy Cheese Spread with Roasted Raspberry Chipotle Sauce

Here's an easy appetizer for Valentine's Day!

It's too much fun finding art work for my TV and this vintage cherub one is so sweet.

My dear friend Kay asked me the other day for an idea for something easy that she could take to a Valentine luncheon, and I immediately thought of this Boursin cheese spread that I had made for my family Christmas party that everyone liked.  Kay thought that it sounded perfect, so I thought I'd share it. The plate is an old one that my little mom gave me.

The sweet patchwork heart was a gift from my friend Connie.  My Wild Birds Unlimited store sells these seasonal items.  My crackers are in a cut glass heart dish.

Bernideen from Bernideens Teatime Blog makes the prettiest tea cozies and sells them in her Etsy shop.  She uses doilies, vintage handkerchiefs, and beautiful fabrics.  This one looks pretty with my Johnson Bros Rose Chintz teacup.  Cranberry Hibiscus tea from Debbie at Mountain Breaths is a perfect for Valentine's Day.

Creamy Cheese Spread with Roasted Raspberry Chipotle Sauce

Creamy Cheese Spread with Roasted Raspberry Chipotle Sauce

This is such an easy appetizer that can be used for any season. At Christmas you could shape into a tree or bell, and Valentine's Day, shape into a heart. You also can just spread it on a platter free form.

Ingredients

  • 1 Boursin Spreadable Gourmet Cheese (I used garlic and fine herbs)
  • about 2 teaspoons milk
  • Roasted Raspberry Chipotle sauce (I used Fischer and Wieser)
  • chopped pistachios, or any nut of choice
  • Hot Honey, optional for garnish
  • crackers

Instructions

  1. Unwrap the cheese and mix with the milk to make it more spreadable. I did this in my mini food processor, but you could do it by hand.
  2. Spread onto a platter in any shape that you want.
  3. Spread some of the Roasted Raspberry Chipotle Sauce on top and then add the chopped nuts.
  4. Drizzle some Hot Honey if you wish.
  5. Serve with crackers of your choice.

Notes

You could use Hot Pepper Jelly or any jam of your choosing in place of the Raspberry Chipotle Sauce.

Try other flavors of the cheese or even plain cream cheese.

Thank you for your visit!  xo

  1. I'm going to make your cheese appetizer for a dinner I am having next week. And if there are leftovers I will use it on bagels. Your tea cozy is so pretty and looks great with your Rose Chintz teacup. The Cranberry Hibiscus tea seems perfect for Valentine's Day. Hope it warms up soon. It was 7 degrees when I went snowshoeing on Saturday, but I wore my goggles and a face mask and never got cold.

  2. I use Lone Star Farms Jalapeno Strawberry Jam. Fantastic over cream cheese.
I guess we use what we can find.
