Ahhh...welcome to our villa at Hanalei Bay Villas that my youngest son and daughter-in-law rented in Kauai. We were happy to arrive in paradise. Our villa had a living area, kitchen, eating area, and half bath, along with the lanai, on the first floor. On the lower level, were three bedrooms and two full baths, and another lanai.
This is the view from right across the front of the villa. Later on down, you will see what it looked like at sunset.
While my family members napped, I set up a tablescape. I picked some double hibiscus for a pretty centerpiece. Wish you could've joined me with some Coconut Pull Apart Loaf and a cup of tea. The amenities at the villa were wonderful, with everything that you could possibly think of.
The choice of the dish pattern was perfect for enjoying the lush tropics, don't you think?
This cute bird kept me company! It's called a red-crested cardinal. The picture isn't that clear because it was taken through the screen door.
My son treated his wife and I to a luxurious massage at the St. Regis Princeville, which was within walking distance.
After our massage, we met Kevin, while my other son, Mike, watched Harper while she was napping. Kristen and Kevin enjoyed some Poke, which is a raw fish salad in Hawaiian cuisine, that is served as an appetizer. Did I partake, you ask? No, I just couldn't! Kristen said that it's a "generational thing"!
Here's our beautiful view from the lanai. Wouldn't you love waking to this each morning? I know that I sure did!
Here's the sweet family enjoying the waves and warm water. We visited several beaches while in Kauai, but the beach at the St. Regis, which we had access to, was our favorite one. My sons and DIL all snorkeled and enjoyed seeing the various fish.
While walking, we saw this sign and had to take a picture! Harper sure had fun with her Uncle Mike!
Here are the brothers enjoying the boogie boards, which were provided by the villa owners. They even had sand toys for my granddaughter to enjoy.
We took a trip up to Waimea Canyon, but Harper doesn't look too happy about it!
EVERYWHERE you go there are chickens and roosters walking around the island! Yes, they wake you in the morning, too! The day starts early at the island of Kauai.
God provided us with a gorgeous sunset for our last evening in paradise!
We enjoyed a breakfast at the St. Regis for our final morning before heading to the Hyatt Kauai for a day pass. Since our flight didn't leave until 9 pm, and we had to leave the villa by 10 am, Kristen arranged for us to go there for the day. We had another wonderful time enjoying the Hyatt Resort. However, Kevin crashed in the bed, as he had fever and chills, but he was just thankful to sleep the afternoon away in the room that was provided. Being at the Hyatt was a lovely reminder, as my late beloved hubby and I went to this very same resort back in 1995, when we visited Maui and Kauai for our 25th Anniversary. It is still as beautiful as it was back then.
I am sharing this with these lovely parties:
Thank you for your visit! xo
It looks like you all had a wonderful trip Kitty, very nice pictures! Welcome back:@)
ReplyDeleteWhat glorious scenery Kitty! Your photo of the sun highlighting the peaks of the mountains looks like a postcard! I'm so glad you had a safe and wonderful trip. I got a chuckle out of Uncle Mikey's Hawaiian Foods :) Harper is a adorable. ♥
ReplyDeleteLooks like a relaxing, family bonding holiday Kitty. I smiled when I saw the tea tablescape you set up with what was at hand and very pretty too.
ReplyDeleteI agree the raw fish is a generational thing because our oldest daughter and her man are forever going out for their favourite dinner of sushi.
Glad you are back home safely.
Hugs,

ReplyDeleteWhat? It's over?! Seems as if it could only have just begun, but here you have the photos to prove that you have indeed been in paradise. When are going again? I think twenty-one year intervals would be too long. Your little granddaughter is so cute and your son is a very thoughtful man.

Yay ~ all went well, and it looks a beautiful place. Oh that clear, warm water looks so inviting. Welcome back!
ReplyDeleteWelcome home, Kitty! Looks like a wonderful time was had by all. The villa looks lovely. Glad those two annoying Hurricanes left you guys alone! I was so worried. That sunset is amazing. And the cardinal? A visitor from Heaven. For sure. ❤️
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic trip with your children and that precious little Harper. I know you had a fabulous time, but there is noting like home. Welcome back to Texas!
ReplyDeleteOh, Kitty, I am so happy to hear your trip was successful (except for Kevin's ending, so sorry, hope he recovered quickly). We were on vacation and I kept hearing of the looming storm that eventually hit the Big Island. I was whispering a little prayer it wasn't impacting your trip. So glad it didn't! We've never been to HI, but would someday enjoy it. Happy to hear the waters were warm! The Pacific was cold in San Diego on our trip!
ReplyDeleteI have be anxiously awaiting tales of your trip Kitty, as I knew you were going at the same time the hurricanes were threatening! I'm so glad you weren't impacted and it looks like you had a lovely family time. I have only been to Oahu, Kauai looks wonderful. When I was there I didn't encounter poke but there was that gray poi stuff everywhere which I definitely avoided! So glad you had a wonderful time!

Dear Kitty:
ReplyDeleteLovely vacation and what great photos in this exotic place. I am so glad you enjoyed this experience. With so many roosters there must of been wakeup calls every morning! You look so tanned and lovely! Thank you for sharing your pretty table setting too!
Kitty, I couldn't help wondering if Kevin's fever and chills was a result of the Poke (raw fish)! Probably not, but I'm with you -- no raw fish for me! I'd rather enjoy the tea and coconut bread with you. I'm so glad you had such a wonderful trip and got to spend some time at a place that holds beautiful memories of your time there with your beloved.
ReplyDeleteO my I missed you, you came back and left again. This looks so wonderful. I love hearing the roosters in the morning. Where my older daughter lived a year ago, they had roosters and the train, I loved it both.. With love Janice
