Cinnamon Rolls

It was a rainy, dreary day on Saturday and I did my teatime inside.

After that I couldn't do my post because I had to wait for my son to figure out what was going on with my laptop.  He's wonderful in being my techie support, but I have to wait until he's not sleeping.  I'm thankful that he can figure these issues out!

I thought this cheery teacup that my friend Rosie gave me from her mom's collection was perfect on a rainy day.

My cute vintage cottage teapot that I bought from ebay severals ago is a nice complement to my teacup.  My son, Mike, also had to paint the bottom right corner because the teapot  came with a chunk out of the corner.  He did an excellent job in creating a new corner and painting it to match, and it has held up so well.  He painted the birdie picture that's above my sofa.

My daughter-in-law, Julie, had a birthday on Saturday and I took a pan of these cinnamon rolls over to her.  They were a big hit.  I used my hot cross buns recipe, but left out the spices and the dried fruit in the dough.   Instead I rolled out the dough and made a paste of 1 stick of softened butter , 1/2 cup brown sugar and 2 tablespoons of cinnamon, and spread that onto the dough, rolled it up, and sliced into 12 cinnamon rolls.  The cream cheese frosting  that I used on my Carrot Cake Scones, was spread on top of the rolls after they were cool.

Thank you for your visit!  xo

  6. Your cinnamon rolls would be a great birthday present in my book, Kitty, so it doesn't surprise me they were a hit for Julie. Having in-house tech support is priceless. Mike's artistic talent shines in the artwork on your wall. Your indoor teatime beats the rain with happy elements surrounding you. ☺️

  7. Your son is multi-talented, as you are :) Your cinnamon rolls look so good, and of course anything with cream cheese is fabulous! Love your teapot that your son painted, and the teacup to match. Glad you are getting some rain, but wouldn't it be nice if it rained at night, and sun shone during the day - wishful thinking of course :) Blessings to you!

  8. YUM Kitty. I cannot even remember the last time I had a cinnamon bun. Yours looks delicious. What a thoughtful thing to do to help celebrate the early part of your daughter's birthday. You are so kind. Your tea table looks so inviting.

BTW- anytime I get "dings" and have to repaint ceramics such as yours - the perfect top coat is fresh clear nail polish. It matches the shine perfectly. I have done it for years.
Your son did a great job matching. Can't even tell it was ever chipped!!
