Marinated Flank Steak

I've been using this same marinade since I lived in Ohio. The recipe came from my neighbor and it is so good!  I hope you try it.

Marinated Flank Steak

This is a great marinade, and it can also be used on tenderized round steak.

Ingredients

  • 1 and 1/2 pounds flank steak
  • 3 tablespoons sesame seeds
  • 3 tablespoons oil (I use canola oil)
  • 14 cup soy sauce
  • 12 cup finely chopped green onions
  • 1-2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Score the flank steak diagonally on both sides of the meat.
  2. Combine the rest of the ingredients and then put the steak into a food safe bag or into a container and marinate the steak overnight, or start in the morning and marinate all day, and refrigerate until ready to grill.
  3. Grill or broil until your desired doneness.
  4. Let rest for a few minutes, and then carve diagonally into thin slices.

Thank you for your visit!  xo

  9. What a coincidence! I've been using almost the same recipe for ages too with a few minor exceptions. I don't use sesame seeds, I use honey instead of sugar, and I use freshly grated ginger. I also use it when I marinate a whole beef tenderloin when we have company. So good!!
