Cherry Pie

Let's enjoy some delicious cherry pie today.

I used my strawberry pie recipe by switching out the strawberry gelatin to cherry and using jarred cherries.

I made my no-roll pie crust recipe which is so easy and incredibly flaky.  Check it out here.

This cherry teacup was a gift and it reminds me of a diner.

This beauty, Cissy, turned 15 today!  Happy Birthday to my beautiful granddaughter.

Cherry Pie

This is a no bake pie, and it turned out so good!

Ingredients

  • 1 pre baked pie crust ( I used my no-roll pie crust recipe, which is so flaky)
  • About 24-32 ounces of canned or jarred pitted cherries, drained
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons light corn syrup
  • pinch of salt
  • 3 tablespoons cherry gelatin

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar and cornstarch in a medium saucepan. Add the water, corn syrup, and salt.
  2. Cook on medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture turns clear.
  3. Remove from heat and add the cherry gelatin and stir until it is dissolved. Cool.
  4. Add the drained cherries and mix gently. Pour into the baked pie shell. Chill
  5. Garnish with whipped cream or ice cream.

Thank you for your visit!  xo

  8. I'm so sorry I've been amiss visiting all my dear blogging buddies, Kitty! Summer has been a whirlwind! Fun but jam packed. Our season is so fleeting I've wanted to enjoy every minute of the garden (even the weeding - LOL), grandkids and family, golf and entertaining outdoors. Cissy is such a beautiful young lady already! Happy Birthday to her!! I love cherry pie and this one with the flaky crust looks wonderful!

  11. Also I think my follow widget messed up when I change from blogspot to a dot com. If you don't get notifications, I'm afraid you may need to unfollow and then follow again. xo

  12. That looks very good and a refreshing dessert!! Do you use the regular tart canned cherries, or do you use the canned cherry pie filling? I'm thinking the former rather than the latter because of the other ingredients. It sounds very good. Thank you for sharing it with us.

  21. Happy Birthday to your sweet Cissy! My, I can't believe how old she is already! It seems like she was so little when I first started reading your blog. Time waits for no one, and it seems to be marching on at breakneck speed in these last days. I went back to find your pie crust post and copied it and hope to try it out soon. You are such a dear blessing to me. Sending love and hugs your way tonight, sweet friend.

  22. Cissy is 15 now?!?!??!?! Wow!!!! I can see you all in her face! She's beautiful! Wow...15!

I've not had cherry pie in a bit now. I absolutely love it, but no one else in my family (nor anyone on my block!) does, too, so I have to do without.😤 It's hard to find good pie in restaurants these days. Everybody wants all those fancy desserts with crazy stuff in, on top of, and/or around it. I just want a piece of pie with a scoop of ice cream. End of story!

    Now I want pie.😑
