Tea on this cloudy day is with a easy bar recipe and a cup of Paris tea.
I'll probably never get to Paris, but I can sip a cup of Paris tea. One of my favorite tablecloths is gracing my table that my friend Joy gifted to me. Grandson Caiden gave me and his mom bouquets of flowers for Easter and a few of them are in my lady vase. He is incredibly thoughtful. I'm having a huge tea party for our aqua group and I found a napkin fold that I liked for paper napkins. My little mom loved pretty paper napkins and when she would come to visit, we always looked for pretty ones for her to take back home. I love pretty paper napkins just like she did.
This is a gifted teapot from a dear friend, and it looks so perfect for Spring.
Pam from Everyday Living shared this recipe on her blog awhile back, and I have wanted to make them ever since. The recipe comes from a place they like to visit, called the Swag. Oops, someone took a corner out of the pan! Couldn't be me??
Yield: Depends on the cut, but I got 42

Swag Bars
These bars are very easy to put together and make a nice treat. I had to adapt the recipe for the ingredients that I had on hand without making a trip to the grocery.
Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 cups peanut butter
- 1 cup white corn syrup (I used 3/4 cup corn syrup and 1/4 cup honey)
- 6 cups crunched corn flakes (I did crunch the corn flakes up somewhat and then measured)
- 8 ounces of chocolate chips, which is 1-1/3 cups (I actually used a 10 ounce bag of Ghiradelli bittersweet chocolate chips because that's what I had)
Instructions
- Put the sugar, peanut butter and corn syrup in a large, heavy pan.
- Heat until very hot, almost to a boil, stirring constantly.
- Take off of the heat and add the crunched corn flakes, mixing well.
- Press gently into a lightly sprayed 9 x 13" pan.
- Sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the top. I used the tip provided by the Executive Chef and microwaved the chips for a few minutes, checking after every 30 seconds, stirring, until they were almost melted.
- Score the bars while they are hot because they are hard to cut once cooled.
Notes
I think semi sweet or chocolate chips would be better on these than my bittersweet ones that I used.
Cissy was honored at her high school by one of the Vice Principal's with the Bronco Way Award. We are very proud of her!
Caiden and his girlfriend, Liz, set a goal for themselves to run in a 5k!
Avery and her boyfriend, Landon, went to prom together, with Avery missing volleyball Nationals in Salt Lake City. Don't they look cute together? I think she made the right choice!
Thank you for your visit! xo
I'm sharing with these parties:
