Let's celebrate October and my firstborn's birthday! We are having a caramel apple dump cake and some Cranberry Autumn Tea. The tablecloth was my mom's and so was the cottage girl teapot that I'm using as a vase.
I so love this Johnson Bros Harvest Time teacup. Isn't the vintage style so charming?
These flowers are two weeks old and I keep trimming and using them.
This is an easy Fall dessert!
Yield: About 9
Small Size Caramel Apple Dump Cake
This is an easy dessert to make for a smaller group.
Ingredients
- 1- 20 oz cans of apple pie filling
- 1/2 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp allspice
- a pinch of nutmeg
- 1/4 cup caramel baking bits
- 1 box of Jiffy yellow cake mix
- 1/2 stick of butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Prepare cake mix according to package directions, set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, mix together apple pie filling, allspice and cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Spoon into a greased 9" square baking pan.
- Top with caramel bits and then the prepared yellow cake mix. Smooth until it covers the caramels evenly.
- Cut butter into slices and cover the entire yellow cake mix.
- Bake for 50 minutes or until the top is golden brown, and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
I like to cut up the apples into smaller chunks with some kitchen shears.
My beautiful daughter, Molly, celebrated her birthday yesterday. We went out for breakfast after church with her oldest and youngest of her four kids. What a fun and special time we had, laughing and sharing.
Thank you for your visit! xo

I have only put a centerpiece on my dining table for Fall this year. However, I am so slow with decorating for my favorite season which is Christmas that I might better start on that! LOL!
