I had a fun baking day with these five girls! Cissy, in the back by the window, had asked if she could bring some of her friends over to bake cookies. I happily said, "YES, of course!!!" We had the best time and truly they are the sweetest girls ever...so kind, and fun.
I drove to Dallas three times in the past eight days. Harper wanted me to attend her awards program for second grade, where you can see her in the top photo. She is in a club that helps other children; she's such a kind little one. The girls also had a dance recital in the auditorium at SMU. Hayden did a ballet to Encanto, and Harper did a ballet to Colors of the Wind. Harper's friend is in the middle. My motto is...if I'm invited, I go!!
I was happy to go to granddaughter, Ella's, 6th grade graduation. In the top photo is Julie, my DIL, Avery, who came for a bit before having to head back to high school for a final, sweet Ella, and my son, Tim. Ella received all 95's and above and earned the Presidential Award, and she sang in the choir. It was a beautiful program.
My third oldest grandson, Caiden, graduated this past week. My daughter, who works for the school system, was able to hand him his diploma. On the top right, he is pictured with his stepdad and mom; bottom left he is with Cissy and Riley, who is home from the army before he leaves for South Korea, and the one on the bottom right is me with Caiden. He is going to go to Oklahoma State University. The cords around his neck are for the honors that he received.
Cissy and her friends are heading to cheer camp and wanted to take some cookies. I had aprons for the girls to wear, and we made a family favorite cookie that Cissy chose, which is Chocolate Crackles. They're so easy, but so, so good! The girls sampled and agreed. We also had a tea party and they chose which teacup they wanted. Cissy always chooses her same favorite one, since she was a little girl, that has a cottage on it. One day I'll give it to her, but for now, I love having it here for her. My shirt says "Free Thanks To The Brave".
Thank you for your visit! xo

So many milestones in this post, Kitty, and I love your motto that if you're invited, you go! I think the most impressive of all is the fact that Cissy wanted her girlfriends over, and they wanted to come! That's a testament to your fun and loving presence, what a gift! Congratulations on all the kids' accomplishments that were celebrated this past week!

ReplyDeleteWhat a WONDERFUL blog post. I am just sitting here smiling that you and your family share so many proud and happy moments together. The baking and tea time with those girls is something they will remember forever. And I can bet they turn right around and maybe down the road many years from now do the same for their grand girls. Or nieces, or whomever! Best wishes and huge congrats on all the successes. You have every reason to be as proud as can be.
