I had a little tea on my patio.
I made some delicious Easiest Scones Ever and Clotted Cream, and my favorite Spicy Blackberry Jam. My teapot was filled with Bigelow's Raspberry Royale Tea, which is also good iced.
This is a Paragon Teacup from my Mom's collection, which probably came from my Aunt Kitty. I looked up Paragon teacups on eBay and they can go for very high prices. This one is exquisite!
This was such a delicious treat! The general rule is to put the clotted cream on first and then the jam.
This handsome, smart, thoughtful, hardworking grandson, Caiden, turned 18 this past week.
My oldest son, Tim, met me for lunch last Friday for an early Mother's Day treat. I had the best grilled chicken and grilled avocado salad. It was so good and so nice to spend time talking with my son.
My daughter, Molly treated me for Mother's Day for an early dinner at a fabulous Italian restaurant, where we shared the most delicious artichoke jalapeno dip, the house salad and the Dallas pizza, and the Margherita pizza.
We also celebrated Caiden's 18th Birthday! Before too long we'll be celebrating his high school graduation and then he'll be off to college.
I hope all you mothers, grandmothers, aunts, and all women who are supportive in so many lives, had a wonderful Mother's Day. Thank you for all you do.
Thank you for your visit! xo
Dear Kitty, what a special Mother's Day weekend you had (and tea looked quite special too). Happy Birthday blessings to Caiden!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it a rare and special treat to have your son all to yourself? I almost had mine all to myself for several hours (along with two grands) who did great things around the house, including laundry and lawn mowing.
ReplyDeleteYour tea for one looks very pleasant indeed. And that tea cup....gorgeous.
It looks like you had a wonderful mother's day weekend!
ReplyDeleteWhat a delicious tea party Kitty! Your scones with clotted cream and jam look like a wonderful treat to enjoy with your Raspberry Royale Tea in your pretty cup! Happy Birthday to Caiden… such a handsome young man. You are so fortunate to have your beautiful family close by to celebrate Mother’s Day as well as birthday and holidays. Wishing you a wonderful week ahead. ♥
ReplyDeleteYUM! Now that looks good! Happy birthday to your grandson. We are celebrating birthdays left and right it seems. LOL! The pictures are lovely Kitty. You have such a beautiful family. Happy Monday. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend with your loved ones. Your teacup is gorgeous. Paragon is one of my favourite teacup makers. I am also admiring your pretty top!
ReplyDeleteP.S. if I have extra clotted cream, I like to add it on top of the jam so it's cream, jam, cream.
ReplyDeleteYou always share such wonderful family photos. Your table looks very sweet there and that cup and saucer is amazing. I have seen some with the blown up huge rose in the center and they are so unusual.
ReplyDeleteDelightful as always, Kitty. Now I may go into the kitchen and bake some scones myself.
ReplyDeleteIt must be so nice to be able to get together with them and see them do so well. ♥
The scones looks so good Kitty. It sounds like you had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend, Kitty! ♥♥♥ Your scones and jam look so inviting, especially with tea in that fabulous teacup from your mother!
