It's teatime in my bedroom today, and it goes perfectly since red has been forever, my favorite color. I'm having some pomegrateful David's Tea, which was sent to me from a dear friend. It's described as "tart &luscious superfruit", and it is. It's the perfect tea for my raspberry crumble bars.
I'm getting in the mood for Valentine's Day, and am using my Rose Chintz teacup by Johnson Brothers. My late beloved mom's best friend had this pattern as her everyday, and I always think of her when using it, and also of Sandi at Rose Chintz Cottage.
Raspberry Crumble Bars
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 2 cups quick cooking oats (I used old fashioned)
- 1 and 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 and 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 can raspberry fruit filling
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Combine flour, oats, sugar, baking soda, and salt in a large bow. Stir in the melted butter until combined.
- Reserve 1 cup of the crumb mixture for topping. Firmly press remaining crumb mixture into the bottom of an ungreased 9 x 13" pan. Bake for 16-18 minutes.
- Spread fruit filling over the warm crust; sprinkle with remaining crumb mixture.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until top is golden brown. Cool completely before serving.

Thank you so much for your pretty pictures and recipe. I love raspberries so will be making your crumble as soon as I buy the raspberry filling.💖
ReplyDeleteOh, to rest on that lovely quilt and take tea relaxing on your bed. How pretty is your Rose Chintz teacup and love the silver teapot. I must say, Kitty, Raspberry Crumble Bars do sound delicious.
ReplyDeleteI really loved your beautiful Rose Chintz cup of tea. It is quite unusual.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know there was pomegranate tea. I like tea very much. I make a collection of tea boxes and cans and I have about 300, but none of pomegranate tea.
They look and sound delicious...easy, too.
ReplyDeleteOh raspberries, oh yes! My favorite fruit of all time. And strangely we're getting good ones in the store ... even though it's mid-winter.
ReplyDeleteYum.
Good morning Kitty! What a pretty tea today. Of course, I love the Rose Chintz teacup; always my favourite pattern. Thank you for the mention, dear friend. Your raspberry crumble bars look lovely. We must have both been thinking raspberries this week. :-) I have never seen canned raspberries here but I suppose fresh raspberries would work as well. I also make a raspberry square much like a date square only using raspberry jam. Hope your day is lovely! Hugs...Sandi
ReplyDeleteRaspberries are so delicious with their sweet and tart taste. The bars look wonderful. And your quilt, caught in the background, is beautiful, too. Have a blessed day.
ReplyDeleteThe crumble bars look so good and you know I am loving that tea cup. Thank you for praying for me dear Kitty and please continue too. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteLove the rose chintz cup! Very pretty pattern as are most of JB's. Raspberries are my fave, and your bars look delicious! And I know they would disappear quickly! Thanks for the recipe!
ReplyDeleteLove your Johnson Brothers' teacup! It's such a special floral pattern. Like you, many of my teacups hold many memories.
ReplyDeleteI'm making a brunch for my family this Sunday and will try this crumble bar because we all love raspberries. I've never seen canned raspberries. Will preserves or frozen ones work for this recipe?
(I've been enjoying reconnecting with everyone in the blogging world. Glad you are still writing your amazing blog.)
Your bars look like the perfect afternoon treat with a cup of tea and your JB Rose Chintz tea cup Kitty! ♥
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Kitty. I make raspberry crumble bars often. Haven't since Nov - need to now I saw yours. I use raspberry jam on mine and put a LOT more crumble on, haha. Now wonder you are skinny and I am not. ♥♥♥
ReplyDeleteThe J and B teacup pattern will always remind me of Sandi too. : - ) Sure is a cute pattern. I have successfully sold a few teacups and a teapot in that pattern over the years. The stuff that sells is always the stuff I hate to sell, haha.

ReplyDeleteI will have to make these crumble bars for when my daughter comes back home from college. She would love these. Thanks for sharing the recipe to make them Kitty. :)
ReplyDeleteThese sound amazing. I was thinking how good they would taste with a powdered sugar glazy drizzle, too. Or even a dollop of whipped cream or ice cream. Thank you so much for another amazing recipe, sweet friend!
ReplyDeleteI love the color red too, Kitty! What a beautiful quilt you have. The tea flavor and delicious raspberry crumble bars sound wonderful together. I'm going to save this recipe too :)

But I guess it's time to get started. Thank you for the reminder! Have a blessed day and week!
