Happy Christmas week to all of you!! I've set up my tea in my Butler's Pantry, which is where I have my electric tea kettle, and my tea supplies. We are having Candy Cane Lane tea with some peppermint bark.
This Lady Catherine's Tea Room light was bought years ago with my late beloved mom at a K Mart. My real name is Catherine, and this will go to my granddaughter Cissy one day, as her real name is Catherine, too. Isn't it the sweetest? I have it plugged into a timer, and it is there to greet me in the wee morning hours when I get up. I'm an early riser, and this is such a pretty sight when it's still dark outside.
My darling daughter gifted me with this pretty poinsettia teacup and matching creamer last year.
My family gifted me this beautiful nativity set years ago, and I love setting it up. It really is the perfect Christmas decoration.
Mary from Home Is Where The Boat Is makes this incredible bark that you vary for the different seasons. You can find Mary's recipe and directions here. The base is chocolate Graham Crackers, and then melted Almond Bark or Candiquick is poured and spread on top. I sprinkled crushed peppermint candy pieces and colorful Christmas sprinkles while the candy was still warm. After it's cooled, you break it a part with the tip of a knife. It's wonderful for gifting, and it's so addictive!!
I'd like to wish each of you a very Merry Christmas week!

How lovely your teacup is, Kitty. I think your nativity set is one of the prettiest ones I have seen. How pretty is your Lady Catherine's Tea room. Love those sparkling lights. May you and your lovely family, dear Kitty, enjoy a blessed Christmas.
ReplyDeleteOh, this was so delightful! I love your Lady Catherine's Tea Room! What a treasure, especially as it lights up! Your poinsettia tea cup would go nicely with my poinsettia tea pot that a friend gave me a few years ago. And that peppermint bark looks wonderful. I may have to try that. It sounds easy enough for me to figure out! Just gotta find those ingredients when I go to the store today! Thank you! This was delightful.
ReplyDeleteKitty, Your Lady Catherine's Tea room cottage is adorable and so cheery! What a fun find for your mom to give you and greet you lit first thing in the morning. I love your pretty teacup and your bark looks so festive served up in your peppermint striped bowl! Thank you for the shout out. :) Wishing you and your sweet family a Merry Christmas week! ♥
ReplyDeleteFirst, I love that you have a butler's pantry!
ReplyDeleteYou know I'm all about the peppermint this season so the CS Candy Cane Lane and peppermint bark makes me happy.
Lastly, "your" teahouse, poinsettia teacups, and Nativity sets are lovely! I don't need any more teacups, but if I see any poinsettia teawares, I wouldn't hesitate to snatch them up!
Merry Christmas, Kitty!
I like that lighted tea room house and the tea cup. The bark look so good. Have a nice week and a Merry Christmas Kitty.

ReplyDeleteKitty, I love your tea setting in the butler's pantry! How festive and sweet with the miniature tea house. I also love the teacup and your nativity set. I made bark for my kids this year too, which was mailed away with the fruit cake. They are still waiting for their parcel in MI. The mail is very slow this year. Anyway, it will get there soon. Thank you for your prayers for Jeff. We surely appreciate it! I am so happy you have joined me for my party the past few weeks. Christmas blessings and hugs...Sandi

ReplyDeleteWould you believe I have NEVER eaten Peppermint Bark? NEVER! I don't know why! There are a lot of classics that I have never eaten...and I don't know why!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love your Nativity scene. It's so peaceful and pretty. I'm sure it always brings smiles and peaceful thoughts whenever you bring it out for Christmas.
What a sweet Christmas tea, Kitty. I love the little tea-house and I know that feeling of remembrance when you think of the day that you bought it with your dear Mom. It's a happy kind of little pain in your heart. So nice that you can pass it down to your little name-sake, too. The tea-cup and creamer is very special, too, and the candy bark is so pretty. I've never thought to put candy sprinkles on top! Even the little bowl is sweet. I hope that you have a lovely Christmas, my dear. Sending hugs xo Karen

ReplyDeleteLovely post. Merry Christmas. Visiting from No Place like Home.
ReplyDeleteI love this, Kitty! There's nothing better than Christmas lights in the early morning! I do the same as I'm having breakfast.....your tea house is so special, your teacup & creamer (and hankie) so sweet, and of course, the nativity the true reason for our season. That peppermint bark would definitely be high on Mr. P.'s list!! Someone usually gifts him bark each year. :) Merry Christmas, Kitty!
ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful way to get your early morning tea, love the lighted cottage. Pretty teacup and saucer and yes, the perfect Christmas decoration is the beautiful Nativity Set. One of my favorite candies for Christmas too. The bark recipe sounds so delicious. Merry Christmas Kitty.........

One comment lost. I lose the will to carry on quickly these days. 😁 I was saying that I am putting this on my list of items to make tonight or tomorrow. I am sure that you are much better prepared for Christmas than I. Hope so! A blessed Christmas to you and yours.
ReplyDeleteOh, my! The bark sounds amazing! I wanted to tell you that we made you thumbprint cookies, and oh, my, they are amazing! We used strawberry preserves for some, grape jelly for some, and lemon curd for some. My family's favorite was the lemon curd ones. And, that outer glazey type coating that was on them from dipping them in egg whites was just genius. You are such a dear blessing to us and so many others. I have been using your beautiful pot holders and thinking of you, dear friend. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a great Christmas and thanks so much for sharing with us at Full Plate Thursday,516. We hope to see you back here again soon!
