Is Fall really here???
We have been waiting for so long for some cooler days here in Texas, and even being in the 90's is such a relief! I used a pretty Fall tea towel for my table covering, and a homespun fabric napkin. Chai tea is accompanying my favorite Date and Nut Bread. It was always my little mom's favorite bread that I started making when I was a teenager. You can find the recipe here.
This little cottage girl teapot was one of my mom's that she found in a thrift store. Isn't it sweet? The Royal Albert Woodland Series Robin teacup was from my friend Rosie's mom's collection.
Easing into Fall, my Autumn bundlet pan was used for some of my date and nut bread batter. I also had enough to make 2 smaller loaf size breads. Are you doing any Fall baking?
Sixteen year old Ella had her homecoming this past weekend. She went with a group of friends.

I was able to watch Harper cheer for her grade school football team! In the top right photo, she is front left, and in the bottom photo she is on the top right. It was a HOT late afternoon in the high 90's, with the sun facing us in the stands.

Yumm! I really love dates. My aunt would make date nut bread for the holidays...I loved it so! Your dishes and family pictures are always so nice. Hope you're enjoying somewhat cooler temps...as we are in FL. Have a wonderful week ahead. XO

ReplyDeleteSweet teatime and treats, and love the kids' fall activities. We actually received fall temps (70s!) Right on cue on 9/22. Grateful, but looks to inch back near 90 later this week.
ReplyDeleteKitty I love dates and nuts together and your bread is a lot like my date cake except my recipe also includes chocolate chips. I need to make that one again soon. It is cooling off here in Florida too, temp was 69 this morning but I don't think it will stay that way...warmer temps are predicted for next week. Your mother's thrift store find is adorable for your tea time today. I am able to picture the little cottage girl in the middle of her English garden picking flowers. It is the time for homecomings and many, like Ella are going in groups. (I think I like that better). Harper is so cute in her cheer leading outfit...I'm sure she is careful with those high balancing acts. Have a great week my friend.🥰🍁🍂
