Would you care to join me for a slice of Blueberry Almond Galette? I'd love to share with you!
My pretty teacup was a gift from my sister several years ago.
Isn't the teacup so pretty with the stoneware plate that my sister also bought for me when we were in Kentucky years upon years ago.
I was looking through my hope chest one day and lo and behold I found this adorable vase that I must've bought on our honeymoon in Williamsburg, VA, back in 1970! It still has the sales price on it of $1.95, and came from Portugal.

Blueberry Almond Galette
Galettes are such an easy dessert to put together, and especially with a refrigerated pie crust.
Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh blueberries
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 and 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 crust from 1 box of refrigerated Pie Crusts (2 Count), softened as directed on box
- 1/2 cup sliced almonds
- 1 teaspoon sparkling sugar
Instructions
- Heat oven to 400 degrees. In large bowl, mix blueberries, granulated sugar, cornstarch, water and almond extract.
- Remove crust from pouch; unroll on parchment lined cookie sheet. Spread 1/4 cup of the almonds over crust; press lightly into crust.
- Spoon blueberry mixture onto center of crust to within 2 inches of edge of crust. Fold 2-inch edge of crust over blueberry mixture, crimping crust slightly. Sprinkle crust edge with the sparkling sugar.
- Bake 25 to 30 minutes, sprinkling remaining 1/4 cup almonds over blueberry mixture during last 5 minutes of baking, until crust is golden. Cool slightly.
Beautiful granddaughter Cissy turned 17 this past week, and is a senior.
Beautiful granddaughter Avery was voted captain of her varsity volleyball team, and is a senior.
Beautiful granddaughter Harper, who is going into 4th grade, went to a theater camp and in one week they put on Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory at the Dallas Children's Theater. She loved it and did so well. I'm always grateful to be included in these happy events.
Thank you for your visit! xo
