It's so unbelievably nice here in Texas! I could spend all day outside, enjoying this wonderful weather that we are having. It's so great that it's not scorching hot. Wish you could join me for my favorite oatmeal raisin cookies and a cup of Cranberry Autumn tea by Harney and Sons.
Using brown transferware in the Fall, is something I look forward to, and this Johnson and Bros Olde English Countryside is a favorite.
My mom's little cottage girl teapot is holding my tea. Isn't it sweet and it was made in the USA.
I sure love these cookies, and if you'd like the recipe, I've shared it before here.
This is probably my favorite Instant Pot meal ever. It is so very tasty, and good throughout the year.
Green Beans, Potatoes, and Sausage
This is my favorite Instant Pot meal, but could easily be adapted to the slow cooker by cooking it for several hours.
- 3/4 cup chicken broth (I use about a teaspoon of Better Than Bouillon and water)
- 12 oz smoked sausage, sliced
- 1 lb red or yellow potatoes, quartered if large, or halved if small
- 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
- 4 teaspoons Cajun seasoning (seems like a lot, but it's just perfect
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 tablespoons butter, cut into small pieces
- Pout the chicken broth into the Instant Pot.
- Add the sausage, potatoes, and green beans into the pot.
- Sprinkle the seasoning and pepper on top and toss with a spoon.
- Place the small pieces of butter on top.
- Cover the Instant Pot and make sure that the valve is in the sealed position.
- Cook on manual, high pressure, for 3 minutes, followed by a quick release.
- When the pin drops, remove the lid and stir.
I finally was able to take my granddaughter, Ella, who turned 12 earlier in September, for a birthday dinner. She chose a Mexican restaurant and it was so nice out that we could sit outside and enjoy the pretty waterfall and pond in the background. Her sister, Avery, and cousin, Cissy, couldn't join us as they're too busy right now. Hopefully next time! We did get to visit Bath and Body Works, and Ella was able to pick out some things that she liked.
My daughter, Molly, had a birthday on October 1st, but she has been sick. We will celebrate soon. I'm just thankful that she was well for Riley's boot camp graduation.
Thank you for your visit! xo
So glad your weather has cooled down enough to enjoy some outdoor time Kitty! Your cookies sound like a yummy treat paired with a cup of Cranberry Autumn tea. I love your pretty teacup and teapot. What a quick and easy meal in your Instant Pot too. Happy belated birthday to Ella and hope Molly feels better soon. ♥ReplyDelete
Happy belated birthday to September's girl and your October girl! I know you're enjoying that break in your weather, Kitty. I hope it lasts a while. It's really felt like fall here, too, although we had remnant rain from Ian all weekend.ReplyDelete
Your tea and cookies look so inviting, Kitty, and with the promise of great weather - irresistible.ReplyDelete
I hope Molly is feeling better soon!ReplyDelete
I am an oatmeal-raisin cookie fan from WAY back! I actually prefer them to chocolate chip! (I know, I know. I'm totally in the minority on that one, but it's true!) This time of year they are especially welcome in my belly!
I've not had a green bean/potato/sausage mix before, but it sounds good...and super easy! I can't believe I GAVE AWAY the 2 BRAND NEW InstaPots that were at my Mom's house 3 years ago after she passed. I wasn't in my right mind. I guess I was so overwhelmed that the thought of learning something new was just too much.🤷🏽♀️
Have a fabulous week!
Sick on her birthday? Not good. Hope that she is on the mend. You do honor your grands so nicely on their days. The instant pot meal sounds scrumptious. Yay for excellent weather. You Texans surely deserve it.ReplyDelete
I wished that I could join you for a cup of Cranberry Autumn teas and oatmeal raisin cookies. The teapot and teacup are both lovely and perfect for a fall tea time.ReplyDelete
Happy Birthday to Ella and Molly. What did she pick out at BBW? My mom recently picked up some fall-themed hand soaps that were on sale.
Another lovely post!! I am WILD about the green beans/tater/sausage combo and could fill my plate a few times with that deliciousness. Great pics of your sweet girls too. Sure hope Molly feels better soon. Stay well! Hugs to you dear. XOReplyDelete

Your cookies always make me want to go in my kitchen and bake! Sorry your daughter is ill for her bday - never fun missing a special day being unwell. I will pray for her. Hope she can celebrate soon. Glad you and Ella got a chance to celebrate her bday too - belated just means it stretches the fun farther, that's all. She sure is growing up fast. ♥ReplyDelete

Cranberry Autumn tea sounds delicious with your oatmeal raisin cookies.ReplyDelete
Hello Kitty| How pleasant is your table for an autumn afternoon tea!ReplyDelete
It combines two things that I really appreciate: the beautiful cup of tea, the graceful teapot and the charming cross-stitch painting. But I can almost delight in the tasty oatmeal raisin cookies.
We had something very similar at some friends' house a while ago and it was delicious so I can't wait to try this recipe.ReplyDelete
Hi Kitty! Your sausage, potatoes and green beans sounds like such a tasty and easy meal! I need to use my Instant Pot more often, I am still a little intimidated by it…I love your tradition of taking your girls out for shopping and a meal for their birthdays. I hope Molly feels better soon. Enjoy your beautiful Fall days!ReplyDelete

I'm so glad you're having nice weather, Kitty! We're supposed to have a few nice days this week but, so far, October has been a bit chilly. Your Instant Pot meal looks wonderful. I am trying to resist buying another appliance but it's tempting :) I've copied your Oatmeal Raisin cookie as I've been craving them lately! Ella is adorable and I hope Molly is feeling better.ReplyDelete
