Pumpkin Spice Krispie Treats

We are having an updated childhood favorite on this beautiful Autumn Day.

The dappled sunlight is so pretty, and I'm using my green leaf plate since our trees are not turning yet.

My teacup has the beginnings of leaves turning and Bigelow's Pumpkin Spice tea is a favorite.

This little cross-stitched piece is one of a set of four seasonal ones.  Folk style art is a favorite of mine.

I copied this design years ago from one I saw somewhere and recreated it with fabric from my stash and an old sweater.

This picture behind my stovetop came from Kirkland's.  They have great deals and I got it for $10.00.

Pumpkin Spice Krispie Treats

This is a fun treat to share for Fall!

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1-10 ounce bag of mini marshmallows
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 5 cups Krispie cereal (like Rice Krispies)
  • sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Butter a 9 x 13" pan.
  2. Melt butter in a large pan.
  3. Add 3/4 of the bag of mini marshmallow (I just eye-balled), and heat on low until they are melted. Remove from heat.
  4. Add the pumpkin pie spice, vanilla , and stir until blended.
  5. Add the Krispie cereal and stir until coated, and then add the rest of the bag of mini marshmallows and mix. You will have little pockets of marshmallows.
  6. Put the mixture into the prepared pan and spread being careful not to pack down too tightly.
  7. Sprinkle with seasonal sprinkles.

Notes

If you'd rather, just add the whole bag of mini marshmallows if you don't want little pockets of marshmallows.

My favorite nursery gave me a great deal on a Japanese Maple because it was kind of crispy from our intense heat this summer.  They also had a limited time of free planting on trees 10 gallons or more.  They kept it for me at the nursery until the planting could get scheduled, and then I picked it up to avoid a $100.00 delivery fee.  I wish I had taken a "before" picture because it has really come to life since I purchased it.  I'm looking forward to seeing it turn colors.

Happy Fall, and thank you for your visit!  xo

  2. Oh, yay Kitty, the Japanese maple looks happy! I love your bits of fall decor and the table setting. It's a perfect time to really enjoy all the tastes of fall. The grown up rice Krispy treats sound great with your tea. We got about 3" of needed rain - a gentle rain - over the weekend from the hurricane, I got 45 qts of pansies planted! But my wrist was screaming last night! Have a good, new week.

  3. Your Japanese Maple looks wonderful. I have one, and I love it. I wish I had one of your treats with my coffee this morning. They look so good!
Your needlepoint and fall pillow are darling. They go so perfectly on your fall table. The leaves on your teacup look like our leaves here in Pennsylvania.
Enjoy your week, dear friend! 🍂✨🍂

  6. Kitty I love your Japanese Maple and wish I could grow one in Florida, but I don't think it would work. However, I did plant a maple that is very slow growing due to the warmer climate down here, but I have since lost the name of it. 🥴 but I know it is not a Japanese Maple...they are so beautiful. Love the rice krispies treats...they are always so good aren't they? No matter the variety. We did get some residual rain from the hurricane up north which was nice but some areas had flooding for a short bit. All in all...it is a great beginning to a new week...I hope you are enjoying it. hugs 🥰

  7. Oh Kitty I have so much to comment on! First of all I ADORE your beautiful autumn teacup.
And I bet that tea is yummy! I just bought Krispies and marshmallows yesterday...never ever thought of putting pumpkin spice in it to make it more fall. I almost always use autumn colored sprinkles (or red and green for Christmas or blue and silver for winter, or Easter colors for spring) on top of my bars but never ever considered adding flavor. What a fabulous idea. I always add vanilla and salt to my bars - makes them sooooo much tastier. But I am so going to try your pumpkin spice idea. And finally - love your tree! I am so glad you "saved" it from extinction, haha. It is nice they made is all doable. You will love it so much there. Yippee.

  9. Kitty, I am so happy that you were able to acquire the Japanese maple. Hopefully it will provide years of beautiful color. The teacup is perfectly charming and pumpkin spice Rice Krispie treats sound delicious. My grands would love them. The cross-stitch piece is lovely. I did so much cross-stitch years ago and enjoyed it so much. I should take it up again! Have a beautiful week, my friend!
