Bunny Pretzels

How about some easy treats to make for Easter?

I've been seeing all kinds of fun ideas on Pinterest, and these are quick to make.  My outdoor tea today was with my cute bunny themed Big Star quilt that I made years ago with this fun fabric.  My rattan bunny graces my table with my cabbage teapot and these favorite dishes from Pier 1.

Isn't this bunny teacup darling?  Lovely Linda from Life and Linda sent me this cute bunny tea infuser a while back.

Margie, from Tea in the Valley sent this Lemon Sugar Bundt Cake tea, and it is so good!  Margie and I send each other teas at Christmas and birthdays.  Really and truly, I appreciate all of you who read my blog, and thank you so very much for being my friend.  Your friendship is such a gift!

Aren't these the cutest little treats?

I had to replant so much of this area because of our extreme cold.  I have two tiny Rose of Sharon (Althea)  trees that were planted in the Fall; one is in the back corner and the other is to the right of my cherub.  I think they are going to make it.  The three Vanilla Abelias in the corner died that were planted in the Fall, and I took them back to the nursery and they gave me three more.  Also, my Leopard plants that were planted in the Fall started to emerge and then the freeze took them and the nursery gave me three more.  All my Holly Ferns died that I've had for years and I replanted with liriopes and Southern Woodland Ferns that you can't see.

This darling sweet girl wanted me to see her class musical which was Westward Ho!, and she sang and danced her little heart away!  The performance was incredible and so professionally done.  I didn't buy the flowers, but they came from her parents.

I spent the night with Hayden (above) and Harper (below), while they parents attended a wedding in Houston.  We made the bunny pretzels together.

The girls did a great job!

Yield: However many you'd like to make; bunnies multiply quickly!

Bunny Pretzel Treats

Bunny Pretzel Treats

I've seen these all over Pinterest. I had to use regular mini pretzels, but Pretzel Snaps would work so much better!

Ingredients

  • Mini Pretzels (Snaps would be best)
  • White candy melts
  • Pastel M&M's

Instructions

  1. Use two M&M's for each bunny. Cut one of the M&M's in half to make the ears for each bunny, and one whole M&M for the face; set aside.
  2. Arrange your pretzels on a paper plate.
  3. Place a candy melt on each pretzel, and place them in the microwave for 30 seconds at a time, until they begin to soften and melt.
  4. Arrange the ears of the bunny with the cut side down in a V position, and then place the whole M&M right below for the face of the bunny. Repeat.
  5. Let cool until they harden and enjoy!

Notes

Instead of doing the melting in the microwave, you can place the pretzels and candy melts onto a parchment lined baking sheet and place them in a low temperature oven, maybe around 250 degrees for a few minutes.

If you use regular mini pretzels, and not the Snaps, like I did, make sure that you place the ears on the crossed arms of the pretzel for support to the ears, instead of the open space on the pretzel.

Thank you for your visit!  xo

  9. How adorable is this post?! The pink & green instantly bring Dorothy Draper's signature color scheme of the Greenbrier to mind, as well as Lilly Pulitzer. That teacup and bunny infuser couldn't be any cuter, but wait! Those darling granddaughters and treats definitely are. Harper is looking more like a young teen these days!
Kitty, I'm sorry your plants didnt survive the winter, but glad your nursery made good on the purchase. I think my garden has survived. My boxwoods needed some dead branches and tips cut out, but all in all I think they'll eventually recover.
