Zuppa Toscana

Last week I had read that Linda at Life and Linda had made a zuppa toscana soup and shared the link. I decided that the soup sounded perfect for our cold weather.  There's nothing like a bowl of comforting soup to warm the soul.  I combined a couple of recipes and added some things to make  it my own.

My son Tim, and granddaughter Ella came over for pork and sauerkraut the other night.  We always had this meal when I was growing up in Pennsylvania and Ohio for New Year's Day.  Ella and I made an angel craft with wine corks, wooden balls, an ribbon from my stash.  Here's darling Ella with her angel.  She made a halo on hers.  Isn't it cute?

Here's my angel.  I wanted a face and hair on mine and she's going to go on my Valentine tree.

Thank you for your visit!  xo

  2. Kitty, It's definitely soup weather here and I thought Linda's soup sounded wonderful too. I love your addition of the Boursin that you had! Love it served in your pretty heart-shaped bowl on your Mikasa English Countryside. Your angel ornaments and Ella are both adorable! Stay warm ♥

  7. Love Ella's sweet angel! How precious. Oh I do love that soup. I made it too but have not tried it in the instant pot. Will give it a try for sure. I hope that your week is lovely Kitty. Cold here this morning...like 29 degrees. Not complaining because it won't be long before it's hot again. LOL! Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  19. Aw, I love the little angel you made! So pretty! I am looking forward to seeing your Valentine's tree. I have never done one, but should because we all get so sad when we take down our Christmas tree, and it is such a long time until we get to put it up again. We all decided this year that our tree is going to start going up on November 1st! LOL! Lord willing if He spares time and life, that is our goal anyway. God bless you, sweet friend.

  27. What is Boursin cheese? Can you make this in a regular pot? Sounds so good.

    1. Hi Dearmumsie! Boursin cheese comes wrap in a foil package, and that is then in a little box. It has herbs in it and can be used as a spread, also. Look in your soft cheese area in the grocery store. Yes, I think you could make this a a regular pot.
