Pizzelles

Brrrrr it's been freezing cold here in Texas!!  I'm bundled up and enjoying some leftover pizzelles from the batch that I mailed to my nephew for his birthday this week. Do you think that pizzelles look like snowflakes?  I love them!

My Friendly Village by Johnson Bros is a favorite winter teacup.

This is another Goebel piece that my Dad gave to me.  The little fella looks like he's bundled up for winter.  The snowflake votive holder is something that my mom gave to me.

My daughter and her family gave me this pretty cookbook holder for Christmas.

My son, Tim, and DIL, Julie, and their girls gave me this Nana sign, with all my grandchildren's names.

  5. I do think pizzelles look like snowflakes Kitty and your JB Friendly Village is the perfect pattern with which to enjoy a warm cuppa! Your 'Nana' sign is so dear with all your grands' names on it, what a sweet gift. It's cold here too this morning and we have a blanket of snow. Stay warm! ♥

  6. I'd much rather have those snowflake-looking pizzelles over the real thing we have outside this morning! You have the perfect definition of cozy going on, Kitty! I'm in love with Johnson Bros Friendly Village, and that personalized wood sign is such a wonderful gift!! Stay cozy.

  8. Kitty, your pizzelles do resemble snowflakes. I have never eaten one, but I know I would prefer one of those to the zillions of snowflakes we have had the past two weeks! Two weekends of blizzards is enough! I am going to set up my Johnson Brothers Friendly Village tea set sometime this week as I am working on putting Christmas away. Your Nana sign is adorable! My son gave me a heart last Christmas with all the names of my grandchildren on it. They are such beautiful keepsakes! Hope your cold weather gets warmer for you soon. We have been in the deep freeze for a number of days now, but January is generally like that here in the Maritimes. Have a lovely week, my friend. Hugs...Sandi

  12. Hi Kitty! I haven't made pizzelles for years but still have my "stuff" in my cookie cutter box. You have inspired me! Now I just need to do it, right! this was a wonderful post and I so enjoyed it. You got some sweet Christmas gifts too. Yes, the pizzelle looks like a snowflake! I lost the photos off my blog from the past and have been restoring many which has been a lot of work.

  13. Yes, the pizzelle resemble snowflakes and match your JB Friendly Village teacups recently.

Today, we had our first snowstorm which brought 25+ cm (10 inches) of snow. So glad that I didn't have to drive on the snowy roads!

  15. Pizelles is my hub's thing - he is of Italian heritage and makes them so well. I have never tried it - why bother, right? : - ) I think this past Christmas is the very first time in years he hadn't made them. Wonder why. Just never remembered because of Covid haven't been able to do a cookie swap (bet that's the real reason b/c he always made them for parting gifts for my gal pals.)

Yours look lovely, and they certainly do look like snowflakes! We just had the nicest snow storm and the yard is very beautifully covered in deep snow. I love winter.

    Hugs.
