Black Raspberry Whipped Sensation Pie

Is it hot enough for you where you live?  It's toasty in Texas, and I've made us a Blackberry Whipped Sensation Pie.  It's cool enough on my patio to sit and enjoy some.

My son, Mike, and I are dog sitting and while Mike took Layla for a walk, he picked me some wild flowers.  Aren't they pretty in my lady vase?

My Royal Worcester Lavinia teacup is perfect for the occasion.

Great Aunt Kitty's Williamsburg teapot is perfect for brewing the Blackberry Sage tea, although we may like it iced!

Dear, sweet Cissy spent the night with me, and I always fix her breakfast and tea in bed with her favorite cottage teacup, and strawberries with whipped cream.

She always likes Vanilla Chai tea, and we put whipped cream on top.  The cute thing about Cissy is that she still likes to drink cold drinks from a cup that she used when she was little, and at bath time, she still likes to use a Cinderella towel and washcloth.  It makes me smile! Maybe grandchildren like the memories associated from that time.

Black Raspberry Whipped Sensation Pie

This is a wonderful summertime treat!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh black raspberries (or use strawberries, or raspberries)
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 tub (8 oz.) frozen whipped topping, thawed and divided
  • 1 Oreo cookie crust (or make your own)

Instructions

  1. Mash 2 cups berries in large bowl.
  2. Add the sweetened condensed milk, lemon juice, and 2 cups of the thawed whipped topping.
  3. Pour into the pie crust. Frost with additional whipped topping. Cover and freeze for 6 hours.

Notes:

Take out of the freezer to thaw on the counter for about 15 minutes to make it easier to cut.

  1. Hot here?? Can't say it is, Kitty. =) Though your Sensation Pie looks totally delicious, I am thinking pudding with hot custard might be the go here. Just look at sweet Cissy sitting in bed enjoying her special breakfast. Her favourite teacup might just be mine as well, but then, I am thinking every teacup you have is my favourite.

  4. Cissy and her mannerisms are so cute, Kitty. Love your coordinated desserts and tea cups. I followed an estate auction the other day and they had a couple dozen very special teacups and saucers in pristine condition. I thought of you as they were each sold!

  10. Hi Kitty! Funny I am sitting here eating strawberries and whipped cream on sponge cake for lunch whilst reading this sweet post. That pie looks perfect as a summer delight! And Cissy is a dear sweet darling of a girl. She has an award-winning smile.

I was kitty watching for 2 weeks till our eldest got back from a nice tropical vacay - but I went to her house to do so. It's so nice to be able to pet sit so folks can feel free to not worry about their beloved furry friends. My daughter's cat is the nicest most loving cat I have ever met. And that includes my darling Romeo. Never thought I would EVER find a nicer kitty than he.

Hope it cools off soon. Hugs. xxoo

Glad to see that Cissy is still doing tea time with you.

  18. Kitty, I know how Cissy feels about using certain items from her younger years. I still remember sleeping at my grandparents’ home and enjoying certain items. Lol, the large cluster of glass grapes they had on a table in the “parlor” was one of my favorites. I’d love a slice of pie. Very hot here. xo

  21. I think the reason they like to use those items is because they remind them of the times spent with you, dear friend. I can only imagine how much those kids look forward to spending nights at your house and all the memories they have associated with those times. You are one of the sweetest grandmothers I know, and your family is extremely blessed to have you at the matriarchal helm. Such a Godly, positive influence you are in these crazy, dark times! Not only to them, but to all of us who know you and read your blog. Thank you for being a steady force of friendship in my life and for all the kindness you have shown my family and me.

  23. Gosh, that pie looks delightful and so refreshing for summertime! I love that teapot too! It reminds me a little of the Gorham pewter coffee and tea service that my husband's parents gifted us when we were married. They have wooden handles too. Cute photo of Cissy having breakfast in bed. ♥
