Here's a close-up of the pattern, which has all my favorite colors.
You can zig-zag, or just straight stitch near the edge of the fabric and just pull the thread for a rustic finish. Homespun is great because there is no right or wrong side.
2 cups fresh strawberries, plus some extra for garnishing
1 can (14 oz.) sweetened condensed milk
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 tub (8 oz.) COOL WHIP Whipped Topping, thawed, divided
1 Oreo or chocolate cookie crust
MASH 2 cups berries in large bowl. Add milk, juice and 2 cups COOL WHIP; mix well. Pour into prepared pie crust.
FROST with additional COOL WHIP. Cover and freeze for 6 hours.
If desired, garnish with additional strawberries before serving.

Kitty, this is both a wonderful table and a great recipe! The recipe is on my Sunday menu! I love the homespun runner. The lace adds such a fabulous touch to it! I love it. Kitty, you are a true inspiration! xo marlis

ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty dish pattern and your runner and placemats set if off perfectly. Your pie looks so refreshing and pretty with your table.
ReplyDeleteI love the runner and napkins with those cute dishes. Your pie sounds so refreshing...I will be trying it soon. You always have easy, delicious recipes...thanks, Kitty!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week...
What I like best about your table is its warm simplicity. It is one where I would feel comfortable to sit and chat for hours, that is if you have the time!
ReplyDeleteHi Kitty,
ReplyDeleteMy mom and I have been making this recipe for years; it's one of our favorites!! In fact, my mom had a family get-together last week, and she made it then. Yum!
Our recipe makes two regular-size pies, and we just use pastry pie crusts, but I think in previous years we've used graham cracker crusts, as well. This is a light, tasty dessert for summer, and I love the combination of creaminess and fresh strawberries. We've had so much hard rain in our area this year that our strawberries haven't been very good. :(
Your table looks so charming. I love your berry dishes; and your table runner and napkins are so pretty. I think the added lace was the perfect touch to your runner. :) I hope you have a great day Kitty!
Hugs,
Denise at Forest Manor
Darling runner, love the added lace and ruffle. The pie sounds dangerously easy! How perfect for summertime!

I was sold with just the name of the pie - it sounds amazing! Your table looks so pretty and what a lovely table runner. Thanks for sharing :) Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI love your dishes and homespun runner! The ruffle adds a little extra touch to it. The pie looks delicious but full of calories! But then anything good is full of calories it seems. Would love to have you visit me at my blog! Nancy
ReplyDeleteThere are those pretty berry plates again. I love those, and the homespun runner is the perfect accompaniment to them. The addition of the lace ruffle makes the runner so much more special. The canning jars are great for glasses on this charming table. OK, you had me at strawberries. I love anything strawberry. But then I read how easy this is to make, and I knew I'd definitely be making this pie. thank you for sharing the recipe, Kitty. laurie
