A Valentine Tea

Even though my sweetheart is no longer with me, I do remember how much we loved each other.  I read something recently which said that love is both and honor and a privilege and if we love deeply, then we are vulnerable to deep pain.  Thankfully, my memories are a treasure. I can still have a tea party by myself and I've set my coffee table with a mismatch of dishes and some pretty doilies.

Isn't this teacup, by J & G Meakin, so pretty?  It's an everyday teacup that I just love!

This darling teddy bear with a teacup was made years ago by a dear friend that passed away a year ago.  I just love it and think of her.

Let's have some sugar cookies from a favorite recipe of mine, which you can find here.

Which tea would you like to try today?  I love trying new teas, and both of these sound perfect for Valentine's Day, don't they?

I am sharing this with:

Thank you for your visit!  xo

  3. Wonderful Valentine's Tea Kitty. I love your pretty teacups. Ironstone transferware is always a joy and that;s a great pattern. The other reminds me of Royal Albery American Rose. Would love to be sharing tea with you!

  4. Your Valentine's Tea is full of loveliness. You are so right in saying that loving deeply can also mean grieving deeply. I'm planning to make heart-shaped sugar cookies this week for my sweetheart and my grandchildren (I'm sure their parents will get some, too). The Meakin teacup is so pretty for every day use.

  34. Aw, Kitty- what a sweet post! It's so hard when we are missing those dear loved ones on special holidays. I always gave my Mom roses and a little something special every Valentine's Day. She lived right up the road and I can't tell you how much I miss her and those special visits in her warm and cozy kitchen. I found two of my hand-made Valentine cards in her things, one from when I was a child. I know they are still with us, anytime we think of them. Lovely tea - very special china. Happy Valentine's Day, sweet friend. Hugs xo Karen

I love both of the teacups you've featured here, and your cookies look so tasty. :) Your friend was very talented; I honestly thought that was a Boyd's Bear until you told us your friend made it. Wow! I enjoyed your post, Kitty, and your pretty Valentine's Tea. Take care and enjoy your week!
